We have many components related to the conversion
that you are doing, this section pertains to the vehicle speed
sensor. You may think that this matter has nothing to do with
your project, on the contrary. If you decide to run your new
fuel injected engine without the advice of the vehicle speed,
you may find yourself cutting power by 13 percent. And the orerall
outcome, not allowing the computer to run at full power. You
don’t Believe me. Find a vehicle that has a standard transmission;
pull off the VSS connector located on the output shaft cover
or transfer case. Then drive the vehicle for a week. Notice
the lack of power and the fuel bill double. This is just a taste
of what your fire - eating - petrol burning monster will feel
like.

LT1 / LT4 Vehicle Speed Sensor - Automatic (4L60E

This is the complete mechanical cable control solution.
The signal rides off of the 40 tooth reluctor ring, located
on the output shaft. The IC logic accepts the pulse then spins
the motor and cable at the correct rate. The MCC (mechanical
cable controller) is fully programmable, to any, drive and driven
gear combination you have. This is the best way to run an automatic,
for one sole reason. The other option you have, is, convert
the rear case to accept the VSS reluctor plus the drive and
driven gear. Now you have a special transmission. Good luck
getting parts when you’re on the power tour.
If failed : The MCC will only leave you with not knowing how
fast the vehicle is going. Not on the side of the road, accompanied
by a quaint stay at the local roach motel, while in contact
